WORKSHOP

Happiness myth

Are we destined to search for happiness? We tend to avoid pain and look for pleasure in life. On the other hand, we’re predisposed to think of and see the negatives more from an evolutionary perspective. From a spiritual perspective, many teachings from different cultures argue that human beings are destined to suffer as long as they keep longing for happiness and feel attached. But then, what’s happiness anyways? Is it purely contextual or perceptual?

In this workshop, we’ll talk about what happiness is, how pleasure affect our internal balance, how we can enjoy life more with practical methods. This will be a short journey from ancient teachings to modern science and positive psychology.

Whatever it is for you, you know when you feel content. But the fleeting nature of it tends to let us down.

Happiness has been a topic of interest for me for years and I had many questions. If you also have similar questions in mind, come join me in this mind-intriguing workshop.

  • What’s happiness?

  • What do we really value?

  • When do we get happy?

  • What’re the main factors affecting our joy of life?

  • What’s the relation between happiness & wellbeing?

  • How can I enjoy life to the fullest?

Yoga practise: Yin-yang flow for balance

I’m specialized in Awakening Yoga which is based on vinyasa yoga with an emphasis on functional alignment and introspection. It’s developed by renown yoga teacher Patrick Beach and Carling Nicole. Instead of trying to change our bodies to fit into a pose, we modify the pose to make it fit to our body. Curiosity for the practise, for our edges and rituals for giving in is at the core of the awakening yoga practise.

Nazli in asana

In the workshop, we’ll flow and get our heartbeats up in the yang part, then we’ll ease into the feelings and let the practise sink in with longer holds in the yin part. Hopefully you’ll leave with a calm mind and body.

This is not going to be a strenuous, advanced yoga practise. But previous yoga experience would help, though not required.
